Jordanian army killed one man trying to sneak to Israel
Jordan-Israel, Local, 11/11/2002

A Jordanian military spokesman said that the Jordanian army killed an unidentified man who was carrying a bomb, while trying to cross the borders through Israel. On the other hand, Israel said that the man was unarmed.

A Jordanian military spokesman told reporters that one persons "tried today morning" ( yesterday) to sneak through the Jordanian territories to Israel in the northern joint area, but the Jordanian patrol saw him and asked him to stop, and he did not obey the orders, rather tried to attack one member of the patrol and this obliged them to shoot and he was wounded and killed."

The spokesman said the killed man was not carrying identification documents and therefore it was not possible to find out whether he is Jordanian.

Earlier yesterday, the Israeli radio announced that representatives for Israel and Jordan are currently investigating the killing of an unarmed person at the hands of the Jordanian soldiers.
