Bahrain's government resigns for a new one

The government of Bahrain yesterday submitted its resignation in preparation to form a new government that precedes the convening of the legislative council which is due to be held in January 2003.

Bahrain's official news agency said that the prime minister, Sheikh Khalifa Bin Salman Al Khalifa submitted his resignation to king, noting that the resignation came following the end of the weekly session of the Cabinet yesterday.

The agency added that it was decided to appoint members of the Shoura council, the second part of the parliament, during the few coming days.

On the other hand, the Bahraini dailies said that new faces will be introduced to the new government including Majid al-Alawi, the former Bahraini leading figure in Bahrain liberals movement ( Haraket Ansar al-Bahrain) who is expected to assume the ministry of labor, noting that the new government will be formed within the two coming days.
