Mubarak receives phone call from new Israeli Defence Minister

President Hosni Mubarak received yesterday a telephone call from new Israeli Defence Minister Shaul Mofaz during which Mubarak stressed the need to halt military action and activating relevant resolutions to defuse Palestinian-Israeli tensions.
Mubarak also emphasized during the conversation that peace is the only way to achieve security and stability for both the Palestinians and Israelis and the peoples of the region.
Mofaz said Israel attaches special importance to its relations with Egypt and its vital role in containing the deteriorating situation.
