Two Palestinians shot, one preparing an operation; Israel demolishes three houses
Palestine-Israel, Military, 11/8/2002
One young Palestinian was shot while on his way to carry out an operation at Jeit Crossing near Kadomim settlement, near Nablus in the West Bank. The incident took place when the Israeli soldiers stopped a rent car which the Palestinian youth and two of his friends were riding.
A spokesman for the Israeli army said that the soldiers who were standing a distance from the car ordered the driver and the passengers to stop down and take off their shirts. The Palestinian youth ran towards the Israeli soldiers wearing a belt while chanting "God is great." The Israeli soldiers opened fire at him and he detonated the belt, according to the Israeli version of the story.
The Israeli forces had also demolished three Palestinian houses in Rafah and Nablus and wounded several Palestinians and arrested many others during acts of breaking in and incursions carried out against certain Palestinian cities and villages in the West Bank and Gaza.
On Thursday morning one Israeli settlement building in Tel Aviv was attacked by Palestinian mortars.
The Israeli radio said that the attack resulted in the eruption of a large fire in one flat inhabited by a high ranking Israeli army officer.
An explosive went off yesterday morning in Morag settlement in the Israeli settlements aggregation Ghoushe Kative in Gaza, and the explosion resulted, according to the Israeli radio, in the destruction of a huge Israeli military bulldozer.
A spokesman for the Israeli occupation forces admitted that three shells fell on one of the Israeli settlements in Gaza and mortars were fired at positions for the Israeli army in Rafah.
The Israeli forces intensified their check points and armored vehicles around Kfar Saba in the territories of 1948 and on roads neighboring it after warnings were received on likely new suicide operations in this settlement.
