US embassy in Sanaa closed for security reasons

The American embassy in Sanaa yesterday closed its doors for security reasons, according to officials at the embassy.

US officials who asked to be anonymous said that the Yemeni government was informed to tighten security measures around the embassy.

One of the officials said that the embassy some times closes its doors to reevaluate security measures.

These security measures came following the killing of 6 persons including Qaed al-Harithi who is suspected to be an al-Qaida member when the car carrying them was blown up by a missile fired by an American pilot-less plane.
