Desolving the Israeli Knesset for elections, Mofaz vows to crush Intifada, two Palestinians killed

The Israeli President Moshe Katsav has officially announced the desolving of the Israeli Knesset and heading for an early elections within 90 days and started immediat consultations with heads of blocs and parties in preparations for these elections.
Israeli prime minister Ariel Sharon held the Labor Party the responsibility for the current government crisis. He said he will not be subjected to any political blackmail and will not deviate from the mainlines of his policy with the new formation, describing the resignation of the Labor party as "unwise political behavior."
Meantime, Katsav admitted that Israel is witnessing hard economic and security conditions which all successive governments have failed to find a solution to them in light of the continued tense conditions in Israel. He said that the question of poverty has become one of the difficult problems which is difficult to be solved.
Mofaz started the first few hours after he assumed the post of the defense ministry in Israel by asserting he will make his utmost efforts to crush the Palestinian Intifada and preserve the security interests of Israel.
Meantime, two Palestinians were killed and other 16 wounded at least by the bullets and shells of the Israeli tanks during leveling and breaking in operations in Blook camp in Rafah.
Palestinian security and medical sources said that the Palestinian youth Ibrahim Hamdan ( 16 year old) was killed when he was hit by a heavy caliber shell in his head, and that another youth was in a coma after he was also hit in the head, noting that most of the wounded are 16 year old including an 8- year old child and a small girl.
While the Israeli bulldozers were uprooting olive and citrus trees to the east of Beit Hanoun, the Israeli forces closed the two check points of Abu Hauli in Deir al-Balah and al-Matahin at the entrance of Khan Younis and arrested seven Palestinians there beside another one at Arenz crossing to the north of Gaza.
In the West Bank, the Israeli forces imposed curfew on the city of Qalqilya and arrested three Palestinian in Aroura village and two in Kafer Malik village in Ramullah district and other three in Nablus during breaking in and inspection campaign in these areas. The Israeli forces also arrested Oqla Shanaeytah one of the "Islamic Jihad " cadres in Bethlehem at a time when cordoned the house of Mahmoud Sbeih of the Fatah movement but failed to arrest him.
Meanwhile, member of the Israeli Knesset Ran Cohen of the Meritz movement admitted was stated in the report by "Amnesty International" concerning the crimes committed by the Israeli army against the Palestinians in Jenin and Nablus as being part of the truth, noting that the Israeli army committed crimes of extermination in other areas of the Palestinian territories.
He said that these crimes should be shouldered by Shaoul Mofaz who was the army chief of staff during that phase and not only the soldiers and army officers who took part directly in carrying out these crimes.
