Washington calls on its citizens in the Middle East to be cautious
Regional-USA, Politics, 11/5/2002

The US yesterday renewed its call to its citizens in the Middle East who desire to head for the region to be cautious because of threats of terrorist acts.

In a statement, the US Department of State said that the American citizens, and American interests face the "dangers of terrorist attacks to be carried out by groups which have links to al-Qaida organization led by Osama Bin Laden." The statement said that the likely targets for these attacks might include residential areas, clubs, restaurants, worship sites, schools, stations and swimming pools.

The statement aims at warning the Americans abroad against the consequences of a likely danger of "having terrorist attacks and very particularly in the Middle East: the Arabian peninsula; the Arab Gulf and North Africa."
