Al-Shara gets a telephone call from Ivanov on Iraq

The Syrian deputy Premier and foreign minister Farouk al-Shara yesterday received a telephone call from the Russian foreign minister Igor Ivanov on the current debate at the UN security council concerning Iraq.
View points were identical on the need of dealing with the Iraqi issue by peaceful means through the UN and rejecting all forms of threats by war, permitting the UN inspectors to return back to Iraq, unconditionally. The two FM s also agreed to continue following up continued consultation between Russia and Syria at the UN security council.
