One US police helicopter attacked in Yemen

Unidentified persons on Sunday opened fire at a helicopter belonging to a US oil company to the east of Yemen, and this resulted in wounding one of the plane's crew before it was able to land safely.

A Yemeni official said to that effect that the helicopter which belongs to the US oil "Hunt" company working in Yemen was exposed to fire just a short time after it took off from Sanaa airport heading for Maareb to the east of the country. This incident obliged the crew of the plane to return back to the airport of the capital after it was hit by several bullets.

The Yemeni official added that no side so far claimed responsibility for the firing incident.
