King Mohammed calls for materializing Maghreban union
Morocco-Algeria, Politics, 11/2/2002

Morocco's King Mohammed VI has renewed call for materializing Maghreban union and complementary to secure dignified life in unity, stability and concord for the Maghreban populations said in a message to President Abdelaziz Bouteflika of Algeria on the occasion of this Maghreban country's national day.

"While sharing, today, with the Algerian people, their glorious memories, I keep that this joint history should be consecrated and should constitute, for us, a source of inspiration to materialize the great project to which our peoples' aspire, namely that of Maghreban union and complementarity, so that we can take up the challenges thrown at our present and mounting generations and secure them a dignified life, within unity and stability in a space marked by concord and coexistence," said the king.

Both Morocco and Algeria are members to the Arab Maghreb Union alongside Tunisia, Libya and Mauritania.
