50 Israeli tanks broke into Qabatia, five Palestinian homes demolished

Some 50 Israeli armored vehicles and tanks yesterday broke into Qabatia town, Jenin district in the West Bank and opened fire randomly in all directions.

The Israeli soldiers carried out an inspection and breaking in operations of the Palestinian houses one by one and forced its inhabitants to get out into the streets and were interrogated and scores of them were arrested under the charge of resisting occupation.

The Israeli forces demolished four houses in Jenin and its camp so as number of the Palestinian houses demolished by the Israeli forces in the occupied Palestinian territories since August increased to 72 houses. The Israeli forces yesterday detained more than 22 Palestinians in breaking in operations that covered various areas in the West Bank and Gaza.

The Israeli radio said that 4 Palestinians were detained in Hamah village in Nablus and four in Toulkarem and 12 in Jenin and one Palestinians on Kafra village in Ramullah.

The Israeli forces demolished four Palestinian houses in Jenin after expelling their inhabitants and prevented them from taking out their furniture under the pretext that the owners of the houses took part in activities of the Palestinian Intifada.

One Palestinian was killed yesterday during confrontations with the Israeli forces between Ofra and Beit Eil settlements in the West Bank after he was able to wound one Israeli soldier.

The Israeli radio said that one Israeli settler was wounded when Palestinian resistance fighters opened fire at an Israeli position in the complex of Ghoushe Katief settlements in Gaza.

Meantime, the Palestinian national resistance movement Hamas announced the death of three of its members of its military wing, Ezz Eddin al-Qassam group, in Gaza as a result of a technical error.

One of the Hamas leaders, Abdul Aziz al-Rantesi, said that the movement is investigating the incident to know its implications and a detailed statement will be issued to this effect.

Palestinian medical sources and the Hamas movement said that three members of al-Qassam group were killed. They are Samir Abbas, Ahmad al-Dahshan and Muhammad al-Dahdouh and other 6 members of the group in a "vague explosion" that took place in the house of Nassar family, one of the Hamas's activist in Gaza.
