Al-Assad issues general pardon for military service crimes, confers with Fe-Arab delegation

Syria's President Bashar al-Assad yesterday in Damascus received members of the executive committee of Fe- Arab America, led by Horasio Haddad.

The meeting was attended by the Baath party assistant secretary general Abdullah al-Ahmar and Syria's ambassador to Spain Mohsin Bilal.

The president underlined the important role played by Arab communities abroad in giving the good image for their mother countries.

The president urged for coordination and drawing work plans to unify activities of Fe- Arab establishments.

The President, on the other hand, issued a general pardon to persons who violated norms of military services in the army if those persons put themselves under the disposal of army recruitment departments concerned and carry out due measures within four months of releasing this decision.
