Strike in Algerian health sector; Eight persons assassinated in a new massacre

The Algerian security forces on Wednesday said that an armed Islamic group killed on Tuesday evening eight persons in Sedi Ajjasha of al-Shalf province, 200 Km to the west of the capital Algiers.

The Algerian security forces added that the carnage took place in the Buqat Seidi BuIssa village in Seidi Akkasha district, 50 Km to the north of al-Shalf.

The source indicated that a group of "terrorists," a name often the Algerian authorities call for the armed Islamists, attacked two houses of two families in the small and isolated Baqat Seidi BuIssa village, .

The source added that the victims are two fathers, two mothers and their four children whose ages were not specified.

On the other hand, the national union for workers in the health sector in Algeria said that the strike announced by workers in this sector at the call made by their trade unions, has been clogging work in the hospitals and health centers in the country since Tuesday and Wednesday morning. The strike was observed by banners at the entrances of health centers in the capital Algiers indicating the strike under gathering of the sector's employees, wearing white shirts.

Workers in the health sector are demanding increase in salaries.
