Mubarak to inaugurate Al Sukhna harbour and five new factories

Today, President Mubarak will inaugurate Al Ain Al Sukhna harbor, the first one to be designed and carried out by Egyptian expertise.

ÊÊÊ The new harbor will serve as a new gate for the Egyptian economy to the world markets which are adjacent to the Middle East region.

ÊÊÊ The President will listen to an explanation on the potentials of the harbor which is established on an area of 50 feddans.

ÊÊÊ The new harbor, which cost LE 750 million is supplied with an automatic control room fitted with the huge computer networks, TV cameras, and electronic circuits which are directly linked to customs departments, imports and export control bodies in all Egyptian harbors.

ÊÊÊ The new harbor provides 5000 job opportunities and has terminals extending to 2000 meters, stores, containers and sylos.

ÊÊÊ The harbor which has a draught of 17 meters uses giant cranes for loading and unloading containers quickly.

ÊÊÊ President Mubarak, in the context of festivals to be held on the anniversary of the national day of Suez will inaugurate many factories in the industrial zone.

ÊÊÊ Among these factories is a petrochemicals plant which has investments worth L.E 500 million and provides 2000 job opportunities.

ÊÊÊ The President will also inaugurate an iron factory costing nearly LE 2.5 billion, producing 1.2 million tons of iron and providing 1200 job opportunities.

ÊÊÊ The President will further open a fertilizers plant which is built on an area of 302,000 meters, investments worth 328 million dollars and produces one million tons of urea and ammonia fertilizers.

ÊÊÊ Moreover the president will inaugurate a ceramica plant which is built on an area of 65,000 meters and has investments worth LE 165 million.

ÊÊÊ Mubarak will also shortly visit Beni Suef governorate during which he will inaugurate a number of new projects eastern the Nile including the new water station, the biggest one in Egypt.

ÊÊÊ The new station has a capacity of 1200 liters per second. The president will also visit factory which is developing plastic pipes.

ÊÊÊ The president will also visit a factory for drying foodstuff items which are completely assigned for exportation.

ÊÊÊ The cabinet will discuss next month a feasibility extending underground metro line to new urban communities as of next year.

ÊÊÊ Fathy Qozman, the chairman of the committee which is assigned to discuss the project said it is discussing specifications of the project which will be carried out through a number of big world companies.
