Israeli Rabbi justifies stealing Palestinian olives: an inherited property for people of Israel
Palestine-Israel, Politics, 10/26/2002

Israeli Rabbi Mordekhai Elyaho, who is considered one of the most important Rabbis of the religious Zionist movement, justified that it is permitted to cultivate olives from the orchards of the Palestinian farmers and to take their harvest.

The justification made by Rabbi Elyaho was made on Thursday during his visit to Haffat Galaad settlement and was broadcast by the 10th channel.

The Arab member in the Israeli Knesset Azmi Beshara called on the legal advisor of the Israeli government Elakim Robinstine, to open investigation against Rabbi Mordekhai Elyaho and to fine him because of his anti- Palestinian statements. Beshara said that statements made by Rabbi Elyaho urge to commit "stealing operations from the Palestinians."
