Saddam Hussein pardons all Iraqi political prisoners

The Iraqi President Saddam Hussein has issued a general pardon to all political Iraqi prisoners and detainees.
The Iraqi minister of information Muhammad Saeed al-Sahhaf quoted a presidential statement saying that the Iraqi President issued a definite and final pardoning without any legal, material, social or financial implications on all sentences, arrested persons and those who are fleeing military services and for political reasons as well as for any other reason, with the convicted person being inside or outside the country.
