Kuwaiti- Iraqi meeting on the borders today

A Kuwaiti- Iraqi meeting will be held on the borders between the two states, under an Arab and international auspices, as the Iraqis are to hand over officially thousands of documents which were taken during the Iraqi invasion and known are known as "the Kuwaiti archive."

A Kuwaiti source taking part in the meeting said that "we will see what they have first," noting that " we have to make sure of what they want to deliver before we receive it."

Earlier, the Iraqi authorities indicated that the documents include papers from the Kuwaiti foreign ministry, the general security department, the ministry of the interior and the documents of the ruler of Kuwait's office. The Kuwaiti source said that the handing over operation might take "weeks or months." A delegation representing the Arab League is monitoring the meeting which is being held under the auspices of the UN in the weapons dismantled zones, guarded by a UN observer team.
