One Palestinian killed in an attack against an Israeli patrol
Palestine-Israel, Military, 10/19/2002

A young Palestinian was killed on Friday following clashes with an Israeli patrol near Toughit settlement to the north of Gaza. Two Israeli soldiers were wounded in this operation over which the Hamas movement claimed responsibility while thousands of Palestinians eulogized 8 Palestinians, including two children who were killed in the brutal Israeli bombardment of the Rafah camp.

The Palestinians took the streets of Rafah camp and its city while chanting slogans denouncing the Israeli massacre and calling on the world to move in order to protect the Palestinians and stop the continued Israeli crimes.

Meantime, the Israeli forces arrested 8 persons of Ramullah and Yata town in Hebron, seven of them are from the Hamas movement. The Palestinian Intifada youths fired mortars shells at an Israeli position to the south of Gaza and opened their fire at Elite Sinai settlement to the north of the Gaza.

Meanwhile, Hamas vowed to continue struggle against occupation. In a statement on Friday, it said that this operation which was carried out by Muhammad Abu Obeid ( 18 year old) from Jabalia camp against an Israeli patrol to the north of Gaza came as a reaction to the massacre committed by the Israeli forces in Rafah.
