Iraqi opposition: The priority is for the American companies
The spokesman for the Iraqi national congress, al-Sharif Bin Ali Bin al-Hussein, has announced that the congress will reconsider the oil investment contracts, currently given to foreign companies in Iraq. He indicated that priority will be for the greater American companies.

Head of daily fined for libel against fellow journalist
Mohamed Brini, director of Al-Ahdat Al-Maghribya daily, was fined 20,000 dirhams (roughly US$ 2,000) by a Casablanca court, for libel against Driss Mrini, who is in charge of production at the Moroccan first TV channel RTM.

Egyptian mediation between Fatah, Hamas; Mashaal denies meeting Salaam in Damascus
The head of the media office of the political bureau of the Hamas movement, Khaled Mashaal, stressed that he had recently made a telephone call with the Palestinian President Yasser Arafat in the framework of the contacts made by the Hamas and the Fatah movement "inside and outside" the Palestinian territories in order to contain the crisis resulting from assassinating a high ranking officer in the Palestinian police, while Palestinian papers talked about Egyptian efforts to mediate between Fatah and Hamas.

A new Israeli carnage in Rafah, 8 Palestinians killed, 50 wounded
The Israeli forces on Thursday added a new carnage to the series of killings committed on a daily basis against the Palestinians. Eight Palestinians were killed and more than 50 were wounded, most of them are women and children by Israeli shelling that hit a school and Palestinian houses in Rafah camp, in Gaza.
