A source from the Kurdistani national federation said that the prime minister of Iraq's Kurdistan Barham Ahmad Saleh met on Tuesday evening in Damascus with the representatives for the Iraqi opposition movements, existing in Syria.
Adel Murad, who is in charge of the relations of the Kurdistani national federation with the Middle East states said that Saleh informed the representatives of the Islamic, national, communists and Kurdish parties on the position of northern Iraq Kurds concerning the likely American attack which targets toppling the Iraqi President Saddam Hussein.
Murad added that "view points were very close." He stressed that "the future regime should be democratic, multilateral and elected " but he said " we are for avoiding a military attack," noting "we do not accept to change one dictator for another." The meeting was attended by representatives for the higher council for the Islamic revolution in Iraq as well as independent Iraqi figures.
