Russia for expanding relations with Saudi Arabia

The Russian foreign minister Igor Ivanov stressed his country's interest to expanding cooperation with Saudi Arabia with the aim of finding out a quick political solution for the Iraqi conditions and the situation in the Palestinian territories.
Ivanov said during his meeting on Wednesday in Moscow with the Saudi minister of finance and national economy Ibrahim al-Assaf that strengthening cooperation between Moscow and Riyadh is of great importance, in particular due to the tension emerging in the Gulf region and the Middle East.
The Russian foreign minister indicated the development of bilateral relations between the two countries. He said that the meetings of the joint Russia - Saudi committee in Moscow revealed the existence of large potentials for cooperation between Russia and Saudi Arabia including the economic and trade fields.
