Israel detains Jerusalem's Mufti

The Israeli forces on Tuesday arrested the Mufti of Jerusalem Sheikh Ikrama Sabri.
The al-Jazeera TV correspondent quoted eye- witnesses as saying that a force of the Israeli army broke into the house of Sheikh Ikrama Sabri in Jerusalem and arrested him before he was permitted even to wear his clothes and he was taken to the Israeli jails.
Palestinian sources said that the escalated Israeli detention campaign which included several Palestinians that targeted Muslims and Christian spiritual leaders falls in the course of a plan set by the Israeli government to pressure the Palestinian people and halt the Palestinian Intifada.
