Al Ahdath al-Maghribyia: wife of sahrawi republic's ambassador to Algeria returns to Morocco
Morocco-Algeria, Politics, 10/15/2002
The wife of the Sahrawi republic's ambassador to Algeria, Fatima Miftah Essadik, returned Saturday to Morocco, reports "al Ahdath Al-Maghribyia" daily.
Fatima Miftah Essadik has been since 1976 with her husband in the Lahmada camps, south-western Algeria, where the Polisario separatists are headquartered.
Her husband, considered as a close aid of the Polisario leader, Mohamed Abdelaziz, was appointed in 1992 ambassador to Algeria.
The return of Fatima Miftah Essadik deals another serious blow to the movement already affected by the return to Morocco of several officials.
Last month, Ayoub Lahbib, one of the top military officers of the Algeria-backed secessionist movement, fled the camps and paid allegiance to King Mohammed VI.
