IGAD states hold an displaced conference in Khartoum

The conference on the displaced and settlement issues in the six member states of IGAD will be held on October 28th under the patronage of the UN assistant secretary general.
Sudan, however, is considered one of the largest African states which is affected by displacement because of the civil war in the south and drought, in addition to Sudan's neighboring IGAD states which are Ethiopia, Eritrea, Djibouti, Kenya and Uganda.
The Sudanese government estimates the total number of the displaced at 4.4 million persons in Sudan, while the UN humanitarian affairs coordination unit said that number of evacuees in Sudan is greater.
