Al-Sannara: Palestinian Druz attend conference on ending compulsory military service
Palestine-Israel, Politics, 10/12/2002

The liaison committee of the Amman's national meeting, which was held in Amman between the leader of the Lebanese Socialist Progressive party Walid Junblat and the national forces of the Druz Arabs in Israel, extended official invitations to take part in a consultation meeting to be held on October 26 in al-Rama village in preparation for the Arab national conference to end the compulsory military service for Druz and resisting the phenomenon of volunteering in the Israeli army and police.

The al-Sannara paper issued in the occupied territories quoted the poet Suleiman Daghash, one of the participants in the liaison committee meeting which was held in Sikhfin last week, that the invitations were sent in addition to Arab members in the Israeli Knesset to all national movements and figures with no exception ,and the aim of the conference is to revitalize these forces and unify them with the aim of abrogating the idea of compulsory recruitment in the Israeli army.
