Al-Seyasah: all members of al-Kandari, al-Hajiri in Kuwait cell arrested

The Kuwaiti daily al-Seyasah said yesterday that all members of the cell to which the two Kuwaitis Anas al-Kandari and Jasem al-Hajiri belong, who were killed in the attack carried against the American Marine forces stationed in the Kuwaiti Filka island on Wednesday, were arrested. The cell's members totals 16.

The paper explained that the documents and the video tapes found in the house of the executor of the operation indicated that that al-Kandari and al-Hajiri carried out Filka operation which resulted in killing one American soldier and wounding another in revenge against the existence of the American forces in Kuwait and for the Palestinian martyrs which are killed by Israel with American weapons.

Well-informed sources told the Kuwaiti daily al-Seyasah that al-Kandari and al-Hajiri planed for the assassination of a high ranking American official who recently made a visit to Kuwait but the plan failed because of the strong security measures.

The sources, on the other hand, explained that the American embassy in Kuwait is taking part officially in the investigation carried out concerning Filka incident, noting that an American investigation team arrived on Friday in Kuwait to take part in the investigations.

In the same context, security sources said that the weapon which was used in Filka attack was transported to the island by a naval package three days before the attack took place.
