Morocco, Local, 10/10/2002
The ongoing computerization of the Public Records of the Rabat prefecture is expected to be operational in three months.
The project that cost 1.15 million DH (about 115,000 Euros) is the fruit of cooperation between the local authorities of Rabat and the International association of mayors of entirely or partially-French speaking countries which earmarked to the project. The association is contributing 80%.
The computerized system will ease procedures and reduce time required to obtain various administrative documents, such as birth and death certificates.
