Israel kill two Palestinians, demolish five houses; Peace Now on Ben Eliezer

The Israeli army forces on Wednesday continued their attacks against the Palestinians. These forces attacked the Palestinians houses and this resulted in wounding 8 persons including five youths in Khan Younis, four of them were inside their school, two in their houses, and another one was in the market.

The Israeli forces demolished five houses in Selfeit town owned by Maher Bisher, Bilal Abdul Fattah, Ahmad al-Ma'ri; and Ahmad Hussein Ahmad under the charge of their residents taking part in Intifada activities, while the Israeli soldiers arrested seven citizens from Gaza and 12 from the West Bank and an Israeli military force broke into Toubas village and Balata camp near Nablus where large scale detention acts were carried out.

The Palestinian Intifada youth opened fire at an Israeli position in Katieve settlement and fired mortars at another position near Rafah.

Meantime, the Israeli forces evacuated three unpopulated settlements.

The Israeli radio said that the army dismantled these settlements at the request of the Israeli defense minister Benyamin Ben Eliezer.

The Israeli Peace Now movement said that the evacuation of these shanty settlements is a mere attempt by Ben Eliezer to improve his election position inside the Labor party.

In a statement the movement said that building or evacuating the settlements in the West Bank has been always a subject by the Israeli officials used for their special aims and in the service of their election services.

The statement called on the Israeli defense minister to give his orders to evacuate some 109 small settlements and not just to limit it to evacuating three ones, "if he serious in taking such steps" in evacuating settlements in the Palestinian territories."
