Municipal elections in Algeria

Algerians eligible to voting will head today to the ballot centers to choose their representatives in 1541 municipal council and 48 ( Wali) council for the five coming years. Taking part in the competition for the municipality councils are 12 political parties, foremost being the National Liberation Front party which is expected to restore back its due position in these elections.
These elections started last Monday in remote areas in the Algerian southern province.
