Kuwaiti thoughts over three islands issue between Iran, UAE

The Kuwaiti deputy premier and defense minister Sheikh Jaber al-Mubarak has disclosed for the Kuwaiti daily al-Rai al-Aam that he conveyed during his tour which covered Iran, Russia, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates information and thoughts from the Iranians to the UAE on the problem of the three islands. An issue which is still the source of continued tension between Tehran and Abu Dhabi since the beginning of the 1970s.

As Sheikh Jaber al-Mubarak denied to have had carried a message to Abu Dhabi from the Iranian President Muhammad Khatami, he simultaneously stressed he had discussed the issue of the island in Tehran and Abu Dhabi. He said "we have discussed in that issue."
