Three Palestinians shot by Israel, besiege tightened

The Palestinian Hani Mustafa ( 24 year old) was shot and another Palestinian was wounded when the Israeli settlers opened fire at Palestinian peasants while they were cultivating olive in Aqraba village to the south of Nablus.

The Palestinian Sameih Noursi ( 33 year old) was shot by the Israeli soldiers in Jenin camp where confrontation took place between the Palestinian resistance and the Israeli forces. The Palestinian Issa Hamarshi ( 51 year old) died because of his wounds he had during clashes.

The Israeli settlers attacked four detained Arab youths held by the Israeli authorities as they were taken to the Israeli court in Jerusalem, chanting racist slogans calling for expelling the Palestinians.

Meantime, an explosive went off implanted by al-Aqsa martyrs groups in an Israeli patrol near Jenin.

The Israeli forces broke into the main offices of al-Ayam paper in Ramullah and arrested many of its workers, and also arrested 21 Palestinian in various parts of the territories of 1948.

As the Israeli forces started as from Sunday to prevent Palestinians aging between 17 to 45 from leaving Gaza, it summoned large military forces and deployed them along the separation line between the territories of 1948 and Toulkarem area and its quarters and in Btah Takfa settlement and its surrounding. This was following information that a Palestinian "Fedeyeen" groups had sneaked to the settlement where a state of tension had prevailed.

Meanwhile, the Palestinian legislative council met in Ramullah to discuss the status of the city of Jerusalem and the reforms inside the Palestinian Authority.

The chairman of the council Ahmad Qrei said that the decision of the US Congress to consider Jerusalem as a capital for Israel is a violation of the Palestinian national rights. He stressed that the American decision was taken at a time when preparations are under way to attack Iraq.
