Syria to produce high- quality olive

The Syrian minister of agriculture and agrarian reform, Nour Eddine Mouna, and FAO's representative in Damascus, Mahmoud al-Taher, on Saturday signed an agreement providing for processing and producing a high- quality olive in Syria.
FAO will contribute to a sum of 71 million dollars for the execution of this project which will be completed within 4 months.
The signing ceremony was attended by the deputy minister of agriculture Hassan Ibrahim. FAO's financial contribution to this project aims at implementing an integrated strategy to produce and manufacture oil of international (ISO) standards.
