Eritrea denies Sudanese accusations
Sudan-Eritrea, Politics, 10/7/2002
Eritrea has denied accusations addressed against it by the Sudanese government on its involvement in the fighting which took place last Thursday to the east of Sudan, and announced readiness to receive an investigation committee on that matter.
In a telephone call he made on Friday evening with Libya's Leader of the Revolution Colonel Muammar al Qathafi, Eritrea's President Asyas Afourki said that these information are not correct and that Eritrea has no relations to what had happened in Sudan.
Afourki also expressed his country's readiness to receive an investigation committee al Qathafi had decided to form. Worthy mentioning that Khartoum has accused Asmara of being behind the attack carried out by the rebel movement last Thursday against areas in eastern Sudan.
