UN expert on judiciary set to visit Saudi Arabia later this month

A United Nations human rights expert is set to visit Saudi Arabia later this month, the first time an authority from the Geneva-based UN Commission on Human Rights has been invited by the government for an official mission. Special Rapporteur on the independence of judges and lawyers, is schedule to visit Saudi Arabia from 20 to 27 October.
During his visit, he is slated to meet with officials from the government and the judiciary, as well as others involved in the administration of justice. He is expected to present a report on this mission to the fifty-ninth session of the Commission next year.
