The message was conveyed by the Qatari foreign minister Sheikh Hamad Bin Jasem Bin Jaber al-Thani during his meeting with President Afourki. The minister said that his visit to Eritrea falls in the course of bilateral relations between the two countries and relates to issues of concern to Qatar and Eritrea especially regarding developments in Sudan and Yemen and certain areas adjoining Eritrea. In a statement to the Qatari news agency, the foreign minister expressed Qatar's care to maintain good relations with Eritrea and also stability in the region.

Concerning the Qatari- Eritrean relations, the foreign minister said that the joint committee between the two countries will in November propose economic projects to be implemented in Eritrea. He stressed that Qatar is serious to develop relations with Eritrea. On Friday evening the Qatari foreign minister arrived in Sanaa in a short visit to Yemen.
