UN monitoring force renewed between Iraq, Kuwait

The UN Security Council on Thursday extended for an additional 6 months the mission of the UN observer forces deployed since 1991 in the disarmed area between Iraq and Kuwait.
Cameroon's ambassador at the UN, whose country presides over the rotating monthly presidency of the UN Security Council for October, Martin Eiboto, said that this decision was taken during the session of consultations dedicated this month ( October) for the issue of Iraq.
