Algeria: 13 killed in an attack by an armed group

The Algerian security sources yesterday said that an armed Islamic group killed 13 persons and wounded one child, kidnapped one woman, all of them from two families, during an attack in Wadi Shurfa in Eid al- Defleh area ( 160 Km to the west of the capital Algiers.)
The sources added that the "security forces started to chase "the attackers in the area where the armed Islamic group is active."
This new massacre, however, came at a time when the Algerian security forces in recent weeks were able to overcome several "armed Islamists," and also just one week from the local elections which will be held on October 10 to renew local councils.
