Egyptian-Indian cooperation in small ventures

Egypt's Prime Minister Atef Ebeid met on Tuesday with Indian Minister of State for Small-Scale Industries Vasundhara Raje.

The two sides discussed furthering cooperation in the small-scale industries field.

"Egypt is keen to carry out small-scale projects in the various governorates as part of its program to create more job openings for young people." Ebeid said.

Meanwhile, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Abul Naga discussed on Tuesday with Raje cooperation in the small-and medium-scale projects domain.

Raje expressed trope that the two countries will achieve a tangible progress in this regard within the coming period.

Abul Naga, on her part, said India has achieved a great progress in the field of the small and medium-scale projects. She said her talks with the Indian Minister dealt with the possibility of setting up joint projects in this domain.

Raje arrived in Cairo on Monday on a five-day visit to Egypt, leading a delegation of 15 businessmen for talks on enhancing bilateral cooperation.

Furthermore, the Social Fund for Development SFD will on Thursday sign a memo of understanding to boost cooperation with the Indian national society for small industries.

Fayza Abul Naga and Raje Vasundhara will attend the signing ceremony.

The memo mirrors the interest shared by both the Egyptian and Indian governments in exchanging expertise and reinvigorating bilateral cooperation in all fields.
