Kuwait prepares for any Iraqi biological or chemical attack

American, German an Czech military units stationed in Kuwait started exercises which last for two days with the aim of supporting Kuwait to withstand any biological or chemical attack, according to a statement issued by the American embassy on Tuesday.

The Kuwaiti minister of the interior, Mohammad Khalid Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, whose men were presumed to carry out similar training this week, visited Doha Cam" where the exercises are held. He was accompanied by the American ambassador to Kuwait Richard Jones and German and Czech diplomats, according to the statement. It added that the training will continue for two days with the aim of helping Kuwait to withstand any biological or chemical attack, in remarks to an Iraqi reaction targeting Kuwait in case an American attack is made against Baghdad. The statement said that the Kuwaiti ministry of the interior will carry out a similar training this week.

Last Thursday, the Kuwaiti minister of defense stressed that his country takes seriously information which notes Iraq's possible use of mass destruction weapons against its neighbors in case an attack is made by the US against it.

Some 10,000 American troopers are stationed in Kuwait, especially in Camp Doha to the north of the capital Kuwait where heavy weapons are piled.
