Al- Assad visits Cairo and meets with Mubarak, today

The Egyptian and Syrian Presidents Hosni Mubarak and Bashar al-Assad, respectively in Cairo discussed the deteriorated conditions in the Palestinian territories and the Iraqi crisis.
Al-Assad's short visit to Cairo comes amid increasing American fears that the escalated Israeli aggression against the Palestinians will lead to the obstruction of the US efforts aimed at building support for its campaign against Iraq.
Mubarak's last meeting with al-Assad was held in May this year together with the Saudi crown prince Abdullah in Egypt.
