US, Jordanian, Egyptian, UAE joint maneuvers

The Jordanian minister of information Muhammad al-Edwan said that American, Jordanian, Egyptian and UAE military units will take part in maneuvers which he described as routine in southern Jordan in November.

In a statement to the London- based al-Hayat daily issued on Sunday, he stressed that these exercises are ordinary and fall in the course of prior agreements and have no links to the plans to launching an American war against Iraq.

He did not give mention to the size of the forces taking place in the training or their set military plans, rather confined to noting that these maneuvers fall in the context of military agreements signed since several years between the said countries.
