Arab parliamentarians back Morocco's kingty over Sebta, Melillia, Tourah Islet
Regional-Morocco, Politics, 9/27/2002

Arab parliamentarians reiterated in Genva earlier this week their support and firm attachment to Morocco's sovereignty over the islet of Tourah (Leila) and the two Moroccan cities still occupied by Spain.

The Arab parliamentarians, who met on the sidelines of the 171st council of the International Parliamentary Union (IPU), and the 23rd inter-parliamentary conference, held in Geneva September 23-27 adopted a declaration wherein they denounced the recent violations by Spanish forces of the Moroccan territory.

The declaration recalls all these territories are Moroccan and denounces Spanish aircrafts' flying over and landing at the islet of Tourah (Leila).

The Arab parliamentarians called Spain to open "dialogue" with Morocco "to reach a peaceful settlement to the issue."
