Italy, Austria concerned over the situation in ME

Italy and Austria have expressed their great concern over developments taking place in the Middle East. They stressed that the military force cannot be solutions for existing problems in the region.
A joint statement issued following talks between the Italian President Carlo Ciampi and the Austrian President Thomas Klestil on Tuesday evening stressed that the siege imposed by Israel at the Palestinian authority headquarters in Ramullah does not help the peace cause in the Middle East.
The Italian and the Austrian Presidents indicated that UN organizations should be revitalized especially the UN so as to contribute to solving the standing problems in the world of today.
