Jordan ruled out its bases for attacking Iraq
Jordan-Iraq, Politics, 9/25/2002

Jordan, which opposes like other Arab states, an American aggression against Iraq has ruled out the use of its bases in a military operation against Baghdad.

In a speech he delivered before a seminar organized by the foreign relations council in Washington, the Jordanian foreign minister Marwan Muasher said that his country was not asked for its bases to be used by the US and did not permit others to use these bases.

Muasher added that Jordan feels deep doubts concerning the American plans towards Iraq. He explained that the idea that somebody is to re-arrange the region and change the ruling regime in a way that suits the US is in fact a very silly idea.

He said that the region can not bear another war, warning against the anger of the Arab citizens concerning this war.
