Mubarak gets a message from Saddam Hussein
Iraq-Egypt, Politics, 9/24/2002
The Iraqi foreign minister Naji Sabri said on Monday upon his arrival in Cairo that the American intention to issue a new decision concerning Iraq at the UN Security Council aims is not "to make sure that there are no mass destruction weapons, rather it is to achieve aggressive intention for interests that serve Israel in the first place."
Sabri will be meeting today with the Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak to convey a message from his Iraqi counterpart Saddam Hussein, stressed
Meantime, Iraq's representative at the UN Muhammad al-Douri said that "Washington is looking for a pretext in order to implement its policy and schemes against Iraq."
Sabri said "I am in Cairo as a delegate from President Saddam Hussein in order to convey from him a message to President Hosni Mubarak on means of strengthening brotherly and cooperation relations between the two countries especially amid the conditions the Arab region is passing." On the Iraqi position to release a new decision at the UN security council, Sabri said "There greater countries of permanent membership at the UN security council and several countries in the world see, together with Iraq, that there is no need to issue a new decision."
