Al-Arab al-Youm: Jordan denies news on using its land by American forces against Iraq

Jordan has denied news which indicate it has given the US consent to use its territories for any military operations against Iraq in return for US commitment to compensate Jordan for any lost Iraqi oil supplies.
The Jordanian minister of state for political affairs and information minister Muhammad al-Edwan said in a statement to the Jordanian al-Arab al-Youm ( Arab today) issued on Sunday that these news are completely groundless and such press statements aim at confusing the clear Jordanian position, adding there are no signed agreements nor secret talks to this effect.
