Iraq to promote democratic development; welcomes German inspection experts

Iraq's Cabinet discussed the fifth round of National Assembly polls and approved proposals to promote democratic development in the coming elections, INA reported yesterday.

Also, "the Cabinet has welcomed German Chancellor Gerhard Schroeder's offer to include German experts in upcoming inspection teams due to resume activities and called on the UN to accept the German offer. This has come during the 41st Cabinet meeting presided by President Saddam Hussein on Thursday," the INA reported yesterday.

The Cabinet welcomed also German companies work in Iraq in all trade and economic areas, and was acquainted with Free Trade Zone agreement signed with Qatar last June and approved it.

"It also approved recommendations presented by a committee headed by Vice-President Taha Yassin Ramadhan concerning coincidence between function and office for those who have M.A and P.H.D. certificates," INA reported.
