Arab League chief to meet representatives of US-settled arab communities
Regional-USA, Politics, 9/21/2002

Secretary General of the Arab League, Amr Moussa, will tour several American cities to confer with representatives of US-settled Arab communities over issues of interest to the Arab states.

The Pan-Arab organization said Thursday that Moussa's talks with these communities delegates will focus on the preparations for the first ArabÐUS congress scheduled for end of 2002, and on means to foster Arab US ties.

Talks also aim at clarifying the Arab vision on peace in the Middle-East, in the framework of the Arab Peace initiative adopted at the Beirut Arab Summit, and to activate a strategy to face up the degradation of the situation in the occupied Palestinian territories, the release goes on.

Talks will also deal with the anti-Arab-Muslim campaign waged by some parties after the 9/11 events, as well as the negative repercussions of the thesis saying Arabs and Moslems cannot coexist with westerners.
