Washington asks Amman to freeze assets of 25 companies, persons
Jordan-USA, Local, 9/21/2002

The specialized Jordanian authorities submitted the names of 25 persons and companies to the banknote commission and the international and banking establishments, as the US had asked to freeze their transferred and non- transferred assets over suspession of these establishments and persons in financing terrorism.

This American request was expressed in a memorandum handed by the American embassy in Amman to the Jordanian government, and included a new list of the individuals and companies Washington says they have links to financing what it calls "international terrorism," and asked the Jordanian authorities to freeze assets and property of the companies included in the memorandum.

According to the American memorandum, the new list is number 16th issued by the US government in the framework of going after establishments and individuals suspected of financing al-Qaida organization activities. The memorandum divides the last list into two groups. The first is linked to al-Salafeyah ( predecessors) group, and the second is Nada Naser Eddine network which the American memorandum claims to be involved in financing terrorist organizations including al-Qaida.
