Families of south Lebanon militia members returned from Israel
Lebanon-Israel, Local, 9/20/2002

An Israeli military source said that several families of members of the South Lebanon Army militia on Wednesday crossed al-Naqoura point between Israel and Lebanon in order to return back to Lebanon.

The same source added that the majority of those who left Israel are women and children, adding that the last return of such kind went back to several months.

Some 6400 persons with the majority of them of the militias of the "South Lebanon Army" which used to be followers to Israel, left Lebanon with their families to Israel following the withdrawal of Israel from South Lebanon in May 2000, for fear of revenge operations against them or of judicial prosecution. Large part of those refugees returned back to Lebanon because of the difficulty in integrating in the Israeli society.
